-WE POSIT THAT THE CRIMINAL SILENCE AND IMPUNITY OF THE BUHARI LED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO THE MASSIVE KILLINGS IN THE NORTH IS ONLY HEIGHT OF CONSPIRACY OF THE NIGERIAN RULING CLASS TO SWINDLE PUBLIC OPINION AND EXPOSE THE WORKING PEOPLE TO INSECURED WORKING ENVIRONMENT.

-WE DEMAND THAT THE BUHARI LED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DESIST FROM THE BLAME GAME AND BEGIN TO IMPLEMENT PRACTICAL PROGRAMS TO ERADICATE THE HEIGHTENED UNEMPLOYMENT CRISIS AND DEVELOP ALL PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS.

-WE POSIT THAT THE NLC AND TUC HAVE SOLD THE NIGERIAN WORKING CLASS OUT FOR PECUNIARY PURPOSES. WE CONDEMN THIS DECREPITUDE AND WE ENJOIN NIGERIAN WORKERS TO TAKE BACK THESE UNIONS FROM THE POLITICAL PENSIONEERS.

WHILE THE WORKERS SETTLE FOR AT LEAST #96, 000 AS NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE, THE COMMANDING HEIGHT OF THE ECONOMY MUST BE NATIONALIZE AND DEMOCRATICALY MANAGED BY THE WORKING PEOPLE UNDER PUBLIC CONTROL.

The workers movement is suffering severe leadership crises in parts of the world most especially Africa where local unions are made vunerable by the treachery of the national leaderships which have been bought over or have swung over to the right or the center thereby counting as excesses the radical movements of the left. A characteristic example of this is Nigeria where since the inception of the Buhari led administration the national and general bodies of the workers unions have gone into oblivion neglecting the local or particular unions to their struggles. The Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has been greatly bureaucratised and its leadership is a corrupt bloc of senators who owe their loyalty to the ruling classes. This is in the Nigerian case is because the NLC and TUC have long being tools of the ruling classes in subverting administrations in which the revolutionary fervour of the masses is fruitlessly dissipated or at least only achieves a reactionary regime change. This confirmed by the fact that in 2012, the NLC conducted a strike action against the removal of fuel subsidy which it gained necessary concessions for but in 2016 when the fuel subsidy was crazily removed by the Buhari administration the NLC and TUC only made rantings which were void of action showing the loyalty of the current leadership to the present administration. Another cause of this decadence is the lack of union leaders with deep-seated socialist ideology. Examples of unions left to fend for themselves by the NLC this year includes ASUU, NASU, NARD to mention a few. We hereby enjoin the Nigerian working class to take back this Labour platform. Recourse must always be made to exposing the treachery of its leadership. It must be established that only the conscious vanguard of the workers and the masses in general is strong enough to challenge all anti-societal trends forced on the people by the ruling classes such as unemployment and even terrorism. The workers union must organise itself for the coming elections as not to be used for selfish and shortsighted purposes by the ruling classes. The Nigerian workers have a great deal of orientation to give to its rank and file, albeit, they must not desist from organising. The fatigue of the labour movement in Nigeria is so appalling that it gives too much time and convenience to the ruling classes (APC and PDP) to compete with themselves by using human casualties of orchestrated terrorist attacks to defame the opposition such is the case of the Boko haram terrorists and their contemporaries the Fulani herdsmen. The workers in times of strikes must enumerate its aims and work towards achieving it even but must be careful not be used as a mere object of defamation. The workers union must also breach the rift apparent between it and the students movement and must provide support for this crucible of societal development.

We must at this point too add that, with the spate of dastardly killings in Bornu and Taraba States by the Fulani herdsmen for more than fifteen months now call for a state of emergency in the security department. It is very condemnable that instead of the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Buhari led administraion to decisively and drastically beef up security and step into action to stem this wanton genocide but the Buhari led government rather blames the dead former President of Libya for this massive killings. It is a show of insensitivity to the security of lives and property of the masses.

The capitalist system is already receiving historical recognition for its failure and crises-mongering and all attempts to trouble-shoot these faults only lead more to the confirmation that only a socialist alternative can cause a positive turn around in history as far as the present world and we are concerned.

We demand that NLC, TUC, ASUU and other unions organize and declare a day of mass action to compel the Buhari led government to immediately address these killings in Bornu and Taraba States and put the perpetrators to book as this development spell doom for our lives.

Again, the NLC and TUC must continue to campaign against the outrageous monthly running cost at #13.5m plus other jumbo and bogus salaries of the members of the National Assembly and push for at least #56,000 for the National Minimum Wage for the workers in every sector of the economy.

We wish all workers a revolutionary workers' day as they unite to burst asunder the shackles of capitalism and build a radical alternative for their emancipation through the struggle to construct socialist economy.

WORKERS OF THIS WORLD UNITE! WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS. KARL MARX.
