Africa, Rise Up! – Call for Donations

The prevailing imperialist world order increasingly provokes popular resistance. In the Arab world, there have been uprisings and civil wars in the struggle for liberation from the imperialist yoke and against dictatorial rulers since 2010.

Now activists in black Africa are beginning to organize themselves against the plundering and grabbing up of their land by multinational agricultural corporations; against the swamping of domestic markets by low cost products and subsidized food from the imperialist countries; against military operations led by imperialist troops.

The European Union is increasingly active in Africa in a joint effort to try and stop the flow of refugees coming to Europe via the Mediterranean. The EU is not afraid to work with dictatorial rulers. Armed Libyan gangs are being used to hunt down refugees in the Mediterranean. These gangs are the so-called “Libyan coast guard” which receives full support from the EU’s military forces. The EU is also advancing the deployment of so-called "hot spots" which are nothing more than de facto internment camps of the most extreme kind.

A conference in black Africa will be held in November to allow African activists and allies from all over the world to meet and organize themselves on a fraternal basis.

Obviously, such a congress costs money. Some of the participants also need financial support to cover their travel expenses.

The forces behind the initiative of the November congress are the Economic Liberation Association (ELA) in Zambia (http://www.elazambia.org/) and the RCIT section in Zimbabwe (www.thecommunists.net; https://www.facebook.com/zimtrotskyist/).
