What do Syrians in Idlib think about the Sochi Deal?

Interviews with Syrian people in Idlib by “On the Ground News”

Below is a video published by “On the Ground News” (OGN) which contains a number of interviews with Syrians living in the liberated north of the country. In these interviews ((in Arabic language with English sub-titles) a number of Syrians express their opinions about the Sochi Deal. These interviews reflect the widespread opposition of many Syrian workers and oppressed against this treacherous agreement between Russia and Turkey.

The Revolutionary Communist International Tendency (RCIT) has supported the Syrian Revolution from the very first day. We defend it as an authentic popular uprising of the Syrian workers and peasants against the capitalist Assad tyranny. We have also warned from the beginning about the treacherous character of the Astana process and, more recently, the Sochi Deal. (See the links to our numerous statements below.)

We repeat our warning: the Sochi Surrender Deal threatens to liquidate the glorious Syrian Revolution! All supporters of the Syrian Revolution – in Idlib as well as internationally – must decisively reject this betrayal!

Finally, a brief note on the news agency OGN which has published this video. OGN is run by Bilal Abdul Kareem and his friends. Kareem is a black US Muslim currently living in Idlib. Obviously, as revolutionary communists, we don’t share his Islamist ideology. However, OGN provides numerous informative reports about the situation in Syria. Furthermore, in contrast to many shameful Stalinists, centrists and liberals, Islamists like Kareem support the Syrian Revolution and this reflects on them in a positive light when compared to the pseudo-left.
