Austria: Demonstration on the 59th Anniversary of the Naksa against the Palestinian People

Report (with photos and videos) from a rally in Vienna on 6 June 2026, Austrian section of the RCIT

More than one hundred people demonstrated in Vienna at the 59th anniversary of the Naksa. The Naksa was the continuation of the expulsion of the Palestinian people from their homeland, starting with the Zionist settlement after World War I, in the course of the war in 1967. The rally was organized by the Arab Palestine Club and led by comrade Malak.
Various speakers from the Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian community addressed the demonstration. Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, was also invited to speak. He emphasised that the expulsion and oppression of the Palestinian people will continue as long as the Zionist state continues to exist. The return of the millions of refugees and the liberation of the people is only possible if the Apartheid state is destroyed and a democratic Palestinian state from the River to the Sea is created. This should be part of the liberation struggle in the whole region aiming at the formation of workers and peasant republics and a socialist federation of the Middle East.

56th Emergency Action Held in Ulsan on Nakba Day for Palestine

Report by the Workers’ Revolutionary Party (Preparatory Committee), 16 May 2026, https://blog.wrpkorea.org/

On May 15, marking the 953rd day of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the “56th Ulsan Emergency Action for Peace in Palestine” was held to commemorate Nakba Day.

A wide range of organizations and individuals participated in the action, including the Ulsan Regional Headquarters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Ulsan branch of the Metal Workers’ Union, the Hyundai Glovis Ulsan branch, the Hyundai Motor irregular workers’ union, dismissed workers from Isu Enterprise, migrants from England, the Seo Young-ho & Yang Bong-su Martyrs’ Memorial Association, the Ulsan Migrant Center, the Transformative Women’s Movement Network “Bread and Roses,” the Workers’ Revolutionary Party (Preparatory Committee), and March to Socialism.

Speakers testified to the atrocities of massacres and forced expulsions carried out by Israel around May 15, 1948, vividly connecting the historical meaning of the Nakba with the ongoing genocide in Gaza today. They also strongly called for international solidarity for the freedom and liberation of Palestine.

A key focus of the action was the dual stance of the Lee Jae-myung government and the complicity of Korean corporations in the genocide of Palestinians. Speakers sharply criticized the government for advocating human rights and peace in words, while in practice allowing corporations – such as the Korea National Oil Corporation – to support Israel’s genocidal actions and participate in the plunder of Palestinian resources. In particular, the KNOC’s involvement in a consortium developing offshore gas fields in Gaza was strongly condemned.

Participants shared Palestinian dates provided by comrades from the Palestine Solidarity movement during a press conference held in front of KNOC headquarters on May 13, commemorating Nakba Day together. The remaining dates will be shared with migrant workers visiting the Ulsan Migrant Center.

Following the May 13 press conference, ongoing one-person protests condemning KNOC are continuing. Participants made it clear that as long as the Korean government and KNOC continue supporting Israel’s war and genocide, they will face growing condemnation and resistance both domestically and internationally.

Speech by Park Hoesong, Workers’ Revolutionary Party (Preparatory)

The Hypocrisy of the Lee Jae-myung Government and the Israel–Palestine Issue

President Lee Jae-myung shared a video on social media showing an Israeli soldier pushing a boy off a rooftop and criticized it as a violation of human rights. However, such public statements are nothing but sheer hypocrisy.

The Korea National Oil Corporation is the major shareholder of Dana Petroleum, which is jointly pursuing offshore gas development projects in Gaza with Israeli private oil firms. In other words, a Korean state-owned enterprise is deeply involved as a key actor in this project. This is not mere economic cooperation, but complicity in a regime of massacre - extracting resources from the Palestinian people and sharing in blood-stained profits.

This is not all. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has exported excavation equipment to the Israeli government, and these machines are being used to demolish Palestinian homes and forcibly displace residents in the West Bank and Gaza. Hanwha Aerospace has also exported weapons to Israel, with every bullet fired aimed at the hearts of the Palestinian people.

These corporations are no different from vampires. They extract resources from the blood and suffering of Palestinians, profit from arms sales, and grow richer as the massacres continue. The Korean government and capital are not merely silent about Israel’s occupation and atrocities – they are active accomplices sharing in the crimes and profits.

To speak of human rights and justice while simultaneously engaging in resource extraction and arms trade with a genocidal regime is an intolerable hypocrisy and a clear crime against the Palestinian people. We strongly condemn this duality and complicity.

Main Demands

* Israel must stop the genocide in Gaza immediately!

London: Pro-Palestine March at the 78th Anniversary of Nabka

By Laurence Humphries, RCIT Britain, 16th May 2026

More than 250,000 people demonstrated in London on 16 May at the 78th Anniversary of Nabka. The march – starting from South Kensington and going to Waterloo Place – was organised once more by the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, Friends of Al Asqa and the Stop the War Coalition.

Placards on the march showed the determination of the oppressed to stand up for Palestine: “Stop Arming Israel”, “Freedom for Palestine”, No to Ethnic Cleansing”, “Nabka is their Plan – Genocide their Method”, “Exist, Resist and Return”.

Austria: Demonstration on the 78th Anniversary of the Nakba against the Palestinian People

Report (with photos and videos) from a rally in Vienna on 17 May 2026, Austrian section of the RCIT, www.thecommunists.net

Several hundred people marched in the centre of Vienna at the 78th anniversary of the Nakba against the Palestinian people. When the Israeli settler state was created in 1948, the Zionists expelled the Palestinian population from its homeland and killed thousands of them. Since then, the Nakba has not ended but has continued with the tragic highpoint of the genocide in Gaza in the last three years. Our demonstration was part of international mobilisations to commemorate the never-ending oppression of the Palestinian people. The rally was organized by the Arab Palestine Club and led by Comrade Malak.

A number of speakers addressed the demonstration, many from the Palestinian community (including the Palestinian ambassador in Austria) but also from the Lebanese and Iranian community. We also heard a speaker from the LGBT+ community.

Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, also spoke at the final rally. He denounced the never-ending policy of colonialism and expansionism of the Zionist state. He commemorated the countless Palestinian freedom fighters who have become martyrs in the past years. Michael emphasised that the only road to liberation is the destruction of the Zionist Apartheid state and the creation of a single Palestinian state from the river to the sea.

Michael also protested the state repression against pro-Palestine solidarity activists. In Austria, the Palestinian journalist Mustafa Ayyash has been put in prison and is threatened with deportation to Israel. Michael himself got a suspended prison sentence of 6 months in 2024 for stating our support for the armed liberation struggle of the Palestinian people.

Michael also drew attention to the case of comrade Zé María, a leader of the PSTU (Brazilian section of LIT-CI). A few weeks ago, a Criminal Court in Brazil has sentenced him to two years in prison for the crime of “racism.” In fact, his only “crime” was a speech in defense of the Palestinian people, denouncing the genocide and the colonialist regime imposed by the State of Israel on occupied Palestine. The RCIT stands in unconditional solidarity with Zé María and the comrades of the PSTU.

Austria: Rally in Defence of Lebanon and Iran

Report (with pictures and videos) from a rally in Vienna on 10 May 2026, Austrian section of the RCIT, www.thecommunists.net

About one hundred people protested against the American-Zionist war in the Middle East and in defence of Lebanon and Iran. The rally was organized by the “Irans Komitee Wien”, an anti-war organisation of Iranian migrants, and the Arabische Palästina Club.

Several speakers addressed the rally, including Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT. Michael stated once more our solidarity with the peoples of Lebanon and Iran who face military aggression, naval blockade and sanctions by the American-Zionist monster. He criticised Hezbollah for its support of the Assad tyranny in Syria but emphasised that we support their resistance against the Israeli aggression. Michael also denounced the reactionary rulers of the United Arab Emirates who serve the Zionists as lackeys. He characterised Iran’s acts of resistance against such states as legitimate and called for an Intifada in the whole region to kick out the American imperialists and to eliminate the Zionist enclave. Such a popular uprising should strive for a federation of all peoples in the Middle East – Arabs, Persians, Kurds, Muslims, Christians, Jews, etc. Such a federation should, in our view, have a socialist character.

South Korea: 54th Emergency Action for Peace in Palestine – Ulsan

925 days of genocide in Gaza, Palestine by Israel and the United States

50 days of the U.S.-Israeli invasion of Iran

Saturday, April 18

As the genocide in Gaza carried out by Israel and the United States reached its 925th day, and the U.S.-Israeli invasion of Iran its 50th day, an emergency protest condemning these actions was held in Ulsan.

On Saturday, April 18 at 2 PM, despite the suddenly hot weather, participants once again took to the streets. The rally brought together a wide range of labor and civic organizations, including the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) Ulsan Regional Headquarters, the Korean Metal Workers’ Union Ulsan Branch, Hyundai Glovis Ulsan Branch, dismissed irregular workers from Hyundai Motor, the Busan Headquarters Foreign Language Education Branch of the General Union, the Ulsan Migrant Center, the Workers’ Revolutionary Party (Preparatory), March to Socialism, Bread and Roses, and Gwangjang Citizens.

Passersby and migrant workers also joined spontaneously at the protest site. Some migrant workers held picket signs and expressed solidarity, while others raised their fists in support. Among the citizens, voices were heard saying, “Trump and Netanyahu must be punished.” Parents explaining the meaning of the protest to their children were also noticeable, and people of various age groups, including youth and teenagers, listened attentively to the speeches.

Participants collectively condemned the imperialist wars and massacres carried out by the United States and Israel. In particular, they expressed concern over the expansion of war beyond Gaza to Lebanon and Iran and called for the freedom and liberation of Palestine as well as peace in the Middle East.

In the opening speech, Joo Eun-hee, Secretary General of the KCTU Ulsan Regional Headquarters, condemned the U.S. invasion of Iran following its role in the massacre in Palestine. She commemorated the victims, including 175 people brutally killed in an elementary school, and emphasized that the greed of the U.S. and Israel for oil can never outweigh the life of a single child.

Hemaeshi, a comrade from the KGLU Foreign Language Education Branch, stated that Israel’s apartheid and ethnic cleansing cannot be tolerated and expressed shame at the British Prime Minister’s defense of Israel. While imperialist governments and capital enrich themselves, workers and oppressed people around the world suffer. As workers, we must condemn imperialist war and stand in solidarity with Palestine, she declared, ending with a call to “struggle.”

Lee Do-han, from the Yang Bong-su Martyrs’ Spirit Succession Association, called for support and action from workers and citizens. He stressed the need to demonstrate that people do not want genocide in Palestine, imperialist war, or troop deployment to the Strait of Hormuz, and suggested writing posts on social media and leaving comments on online news.

Mike, also from the KGLU Foreign Language Education Branch, said that the war spreading from Gaza to Lebanon and Iran raises a crucial question for all workers: “Who benefits, and who pays the price?” He emphasized the importance of workers fighting across the country against wars driven by profit. The children dying in Palestine are no different from our own, he said, stressing the need for anti-war and anti-imperialist struggle.

Yang Jun-seok from March to Socialism called for Trump and Netanyahu to be brought before a war crimes tribunal, making clear that it will not be the UN or the existing international order that achieves this, but the working masses. Although not many people were present at the rally, he expressed confidence that people around the world who seek peace and justice are fighting together and will continue to do so, ultimately defeating genocide and war.

Freedom for Palestine!”

Liberation for Palestine!”

Stop the genocide and war of aggression now!”

The government must halt complicity in genocide and discussions of troop deployment to Hormuz!”

This emergency action in Ulsan served as an opportunity for local workers and citizens to raise their voices in solidarity regarding the international situation and reaffirm their opposition to imperialist war and genocide. Participants pledged to continue their actions and solidarity in the future.
